Chapter 12 - Enter the Shark

Elena Robles was a legend in the Guadalajara family courts. She didn't just win cases; she systematically dismantled her opponents. Sitting at the small hotel desk, she organized the invoices, the camera footage logs, and the photographic evidence of the assault into separate, color-coded folders.

"Javier's biggest mistake wasn't just hitting your mother," Elena said, taking a sip of her black coffee. "His biggest mistake was using your corporate tax ID to fund his family's lifestyle. That crosses the line from marital dispute into corporate fraud and tax evasion. If we present this to the SAT (tax authority), his sisters are looking at severe criminal liabilities."

Natalia nodded, feeling a cold satisfaction. "I want them entirely cut off. Not a single peso of my money goes to that house anymore."

"Consider it done," Elena replied. "I've already drafted the emergency restraining order regarding Doña Refugio. Javier will not be allowed within five hundred meters of her. The divorce petition is ready to be filed by noon."

As they discussed the legal strategy, Natalia’s phone buzzed with an alert from the smart home security system she had personally installed at the mansion. Since she was the primary account holder, her access had not been revoked.

"They are gathering in the living room," Natalia said, opening the live camera feed on her tablet.

Elena leaned in, her eyes narrowing as she watched the silent, high-definition video of the very people who had humiliated her client. "Let's see how the parasites react when they realize the host has died."

On the screen, the scene was one of absolute, unmitigated chaos. The arrogant bravado from the previous night was entirely gone, replaced by the frantic, scrambling panic of people who had just realized they couldn't survive on their own.
