Chapter 30

One year later.

The grand Tuscan estate was completely bathed in the warm, golden light of the late afternoon sun. The air was filled with the beautiful, chaotic sound of a massive celebration.

It was Isabella’s second birthday party.

The sprawling manicured lawns were covered in brightly colored tents, massive bouncy castles, and long wooden tables loaded with incredible Italian pastries, fresh fruits, and a towering, three-tier chocolate cake.

Julian had kept the guest list strictly to their closest, most trusted friends and loyal staff members. There were no manipulative corporate executives, no aggressive paparazzi, and no fake, opportunistic socialites. It was a genuine celebration of pure, unadulterated life.

Julian stood near the edge of the stone terrace, wearing a perfectly tailored light blue linen suit. He held a glass of sparkling champagne, watching the joyous scene unfold before him.

He saw Elena running across the green lawn, laughing brightly as she chased a giggling Isabella, who was determinedly trying to catch a massive, floating soap bubble. Elena looked absolutely radiant, completely free of the deep, haunting scars that Camila and Victor had tried to brand into her soul.

Marcus walked up beside Julian, dressed casually for the first time in years.

"The perimeter is entirely secure, boss," Marcus smiled, raising a bottle of beer. "Not a single threat on the radar. The world is quiet."

"Keep it that way, Marcus," Julian smiled genuinely, clinking his champagne glass against the bottle.

Julian left the terrace, walking down the grassy hill toward his wife and daughter. When Isabella saw him coming, she abandoned her pursuit of the bubbles and ran toward him as fast as her little legs could carry her.

"Papa!" she squealed happily.

Julian dropped to one knee, catching her in a massive bear hug and spinning her around, making her shriek with absolute delight.

Elena walked over, completely out of breath but smiling radiantly. She wrapped her arms around Julian’s neck as he stood up, kissing him deeply and passionately, completely ignoring the cheers from their friends.

Julian Rossi looked at his beautiful wife and his laughing daughter. The monsters of his past were locked away in concrete cages, and the brutal wars of his empire were finally over.

He pulled them both tightly against his chest, realizing that true power wasn't found in a boardroom. True power was found in love. And Julian Rossi was undeniably the most powerful man in the world.
