Chapter 18

Camila stumbled backward, her arrogant smile instantly vanishing as she stared at Julian’s cold, furious face through the narrow steel grating.

"Julian," she gasped, trying desperately to recover her composure. "What a completely unexpected surprise. Come to gloat?"

Julian ignored her, turning his piercing gaze to the terrified guard, Miller.

"Arrest him," Julian ordered the Warden. "He is facilitating communications for a federal inmate tied to international corporate espionage. I have already provided the FBI with the digital wire transfers proving he accepted bribes from Lorenzo Costa."

The tactical officers immediately grabbed Miller, slamming him against the wall and snapping heavy metal handcuffs onto his wrists. The corrupt guard began to sob, begging for mercy as he was dragged away down the long corridor.

Julian turned his attention back to Camila.

"You truly believed you could outsmart me from a concrete box," Julian said, his voice dangerously low. "You gave Lorenzo my internal financial data. You sent him after the Alcazar."

"I only took back what was rightfully mine!" Camila shrieked, slamming her hands against the steel door. "You ruined my life! You chose that weak, pathetic girl over me!"

"That 'weak' girl survived everything you threw at her, and she gave me the greatest joy of my life," Julian replied, his voice laced with pure venom. "You are nothing, Camila. You are a ghost. And Lorenzo Costa is currently watching his entire shipping empire burn to ashes on the global market."

Camila’s face drained of all color. "You're lying. Lorenzo is untouchable."

"Interpol raided his Genoa warehouses ten minutes ago," Julian stated coldly. "His accounts are completely frozen. He is bankrupt, and he will be joining you in federal prison by the end of the week."

Julian leaned closer to the grating, his eyes burning with a terrifying promise.

"You are going to be transferred to a supermax facility," Julian promised. "No windows. No corrupt guards. Twenty-three hours a day in total darkness. You will never, ever hear my name again."

He turned and walked away, leaving her screaming hysterically into the void.
