Chapter 25

The evening sun began to dip below the horizon, painting the Amalfi sky in brilliant, fiery strokes of orange, pink, and deep purple.
Julian had arranged for a private, romantic dinner to be set up directly on the cliffside terrace. A small wooden table was covered in crisp white linens, adorned with flickering crystal candles and a massive bouquet of fresh, fragrant white roses. A private chef had prepared a decadent five-course meal of fresh local seafood and handmade pasta, completely leaving them alone to enjoy the absolute privacy.
Isabella was sound asleep in the adjoining master suite, monitored by a state-of-the-art camera system.
Julian poured two glasses of a rare, vintage Italian wine, handing one to Elena. The candlelight danced beautifully across her face, highlighting her flawless features and the deep, genuine happiness radiating from her eyes.
"To us," Julian toasted softly, raising his glass.
"To us," Elena smiled, clinking her glass against his. "And to the peace we finally fought for."
They ate in a comfortable, loving silence, the sound of the crashing waves far below providing a perfect, natural symphony. Julian couldn't take his eyes off her. He had spent his entire life accumulating wealth, ruthlessly destroying his enemies, and building an untouchable empire of glass and steel. He had believed that power was the only true currency in the world.
But looking at the woman sitting across from him—the woman who had healed his shattered soul and given him a beautiful daughter—he realized how profoundly wrong he had been.
"I was a very different man before I met you," Julian said suddenly, breaking the quiet ambiance.
Elena paused, placing her wine glass gently on the table. She looked at him with immense tenderness. "I know."
"I was completely consumed by the Alcazar," Julian continued, his voice thick with emotion. "I was a tyrant. I let Victor manipulate my blind spots because I was too arrogant to see the truth. I almost lost you because of it."
May you like
"But you didn't," Elena said firmly, reaching across the table to take his hand. "You saved me, Julian."
"No," Julian corrected her, bringing her hand to his lips and kissing her knuckles. "You saved me."
