Chapter 15 - The Breach
Suddenly, the heavy oak doors of the library burst violently open.
Daniel emerged, his face entirely unhinged, holding a massive, tactical twelve-gauge shotgun.
The security guards immediately raised their weapons.
"Drop it right now!"
The head of security roared.
Daniel completely ignored them, pointing the heavy barrel directly at Valeria and Elena.
"Give me the flash drive,"
Daniel ordered, his eyes burning with frantic, lethal desperation.
Valeria instinctively clutched the small silver drive tightly against her chest.
"This is the whole truth, isn't it?"
Valeria demanded, refusing to back down.
"Hand it over, and nobody else has to die tonight,"
Daniel threatened, racking the slide of the shotgun with a terrifying, metallic clack.
Elena leaned down, her lips brushing against Valeria’s ear.
