Chapter 4 - The House of Cards CollapsesJulian walked into the foyer, his eyes burning with absolute, uncompromising fury. He walked straight past his trembling sister without giving her so much as a glance, heading directly to Elena. He gently took her hands, kissing her forehead with fierce tenderness.

"Are you and the babies alright?" Julian murmured, his voice softening.
"We're perfect," Elena smiled, squeezing his fingers. "Everything went exactly according to plan."
Julian turned back toward Vanessa, his expression hardening into pure titanium. "For three years, I ignored the whispers about your spending. I gave you the benefit of the doubt because you are my sister. But you didn't just steal from the family business, Vanessa—you tried to murder my wife and my unborn children."
"Julian, please! She manipulated you!" Vanessa begged, dropping to her knees, clutching at his tailored trousers. "She set me up! I did everything for this family! I built our brand while you were traveling the world! You can't let her take everything from me!"
"You didn't build anything," Detective Ruiz interrupted, stepping forward with an arrest warrant in hand. "Over the last forty-eight hours, federal agents raided three shell corporations registered under your name in Delaware and the Cayman Islands. We have recovered full server logs proving you embezzled forty-seven million dollars from the Howard Logistics Employee Pension Fund."
Vanessa’s jaw dropped. The room fell into dead silence.
"Furthermore," Detective Ruiz continued, pulling out a second document, "Dr. Kenneth Evans—the physician who signed those fraudulent psychiatric papers—was arrested at JFK Airport two hours ago attempting to board a flight to Switzerland. He has already signed a full confession implicating you in wire fraud, bribery, and conspiracy to commit premeditated murder."
Vanessa slumped onto the floor, her lavish blue dress pooling around her like a shroud. The smug, arrogant heiress who had ruled over the household with an iron fist had completely disintegrated.
Mrs. Howard walked slowly toward her daughter, tears of profound disappointment staining her wrinkled face. "I gave you everything, Vanessa. I gave you leadership, wealth, and unconditional trust. And in return, you turned into a monster."
"Mother, please..." Vanessa sobbed, reaching out a trembling hand.
Mrs. Howard stepped back, turning her face away in disgust. "Officers, remove this criminal from my home. She is no longer a daughter of this house."

Detective Ruiz nodded to his deputies. Two uniformed officers stepped forward, forcefully pulling Vanessa to her feet and wrenching her arms behind her back. The cold, metallic click of the steel handcuffs echoed off the vaulted ceilings.
Vanessa struggled, screaming obscenities and cursing Elena’s name as she was dragged down the grand marble hallway and out through the towering mahogany doors. The heavy front entrance slammed shut behind her, cutting off her hysterical cries forever.
