Chapter 11 - Freezing the Assets|

By the very next morning, my hospital room had essentially transformed into a fully functioning command center. My father walked in accompanied by the bank's financial investigator, Daniel Cho, a middle-aged man with a remarkably calm demeanor and sharp, wire-rimmed glasses.
"Good morning, Ms. Morgan. I have thoroughly reviewed the reports," Daniel began.
He spread a neatly organized file folder across the small rolling table.
"We successfully intercepted the $38,000 loan just before it could be fully disbursed. Your husband attempted to route these funds into an offshore virtual bank account, but our internal fraud alert system flagged and temporarily held the transaction," he explained.
"What about Lily's custodial account?" I asked.
A wave of anxiety washed over me. Before the birth, I had established an educational trust fund for my daughter using my own private savings.
"Now, that is the truly interesting part," Daniel smiled faintly. "Ethan physically walked into our main branch this morning, aggressively trying to withdraw the entirety of the funds from your daughter's account. However, he was completely unaware that the custodial paperwork strictly requires your physical, wet signature. The bank's security cameras captured the entire scene of him violently threatening the teller when his request was unequivocally denied."
My father snorted coldly, crossing his arms over his broad chest.
"Did that fool really think he could just waltz in and steal my granddaughter's money that easily?" my father scoffed.
"I have officially preserved all of that video footage, along with the withdrawal request form containing his falsified signature," Daniel said.
He handed Melissa a secure USB drive.

"This is ironclad evidence. He isn't just facing standard loan fraud; he is now looking at severe charges for the attempted embezzlement of a minor's assets," Daniel concluded.
"Fantastic," Melissa beamed triumphantly. "Now, we are going to deliver this lovely gift right to his front door."
