Chapter 12 - The Financial Strike

|

I looked up from the photographs of Sienna Hart, my bruised cheek aching, my mind moving with lethal precision. Adrian had tried to strip me of my agency and my wealth. Now, I was going to systematically dismantle his entire empire in a matter of hours.

"Send everything to the lenders," I commanded, tapping my fingernail against the forged loan documents.

Naomi paused, looking at the grandfather clock in the corner of the room. "Tonight? It's after business hours. We could wait until the markets open tomorrow morning to ensure maximum visibility."

"Do it tonight," I insisted, my voice leaving no room for debate. "Send it directly to their emergency executive contacts. Do it before he has the time to invent another lie or move the stolen funds offshore."

Naomi nodded, her fingers flying across her secure laptop keyboard. The strike was swift, digital, and devastating.

At exactly 9:17 p.m., the risk management algorithms at three major international banks flagged the explosive legal dossier Naomi had just transmitted. Within minutes, the banks unilaterally suspended all of Vale Crest Developments' active credit lines, freezing millions of dollars in operating capital.

At 9:42 p.m., Julian Ward authorized the release of Halcyon’s emergency board notices. The massive hotel conglomerate issued formal, public statements declaring that every single partnership, joint venture, or property access agreement Adrian had promised his investors was entirely fraudulent and legally void.

The financial foundation of Adrian’s life was completely vaporized before the clock struck ten. The facade of the wealthy, influential developer was dead. He was now nothing more than an exposed fraudster, drowning in millions of dollars of unsecured, rapidly accelerating debt. The trap he had set for me had snapped shut on his own neck.
