Chapter 5 - THE BOSS'S WRATH|

Damon stepped into the room, his gray eyes colder than the ocean outside.
"Mr. Cain!" Mrs. Gable rushed forward, her voice trembling with artificial panic. "Thank goodness! We found your wife's watch! This maid's child stole it! Marcus caught her!"
Damon didn't look at Mrs. Gable. He didn't look at the watch on the floor.
He looked directly at Marcus.
"Marcus," Damon said softly. "Where were you at three o'clock today?"
Marcus swallowed hard, his posture stiffening. "I was conducting my rounds in the east wing, sir."
"Is that so?" Damon murmured, walking slowly toward the guard. "Because I reviewed the internal vault logs five minutes ago. The master bedroom door was unlocked using a master keycard assigned to security staff."
Marcus’s face drained of color. "Sir, I—"
"Furthermore," Damon continued, his voice dangerously smooth, "the high-definition camera concealed inside the vanity mirror recorded everything. It captured a man wearing tactical boots and a heavy gold ring on his left hand taking the watch."
Damon paused, pointing to Marcus’s left hand.
"The same ring you are wearing right now."
Mrs. Gable gasped, taking a sharp step back.
Marcus panicked. His hand dropped toward his holster, but Damon moved with frightening speed.
Before Marcus could clear his leather, Damon clamped a hand around the guard's throat, slamming him violently against the brick wall. The impact rattled the framed pictures on the wall. Marcus choked, his boots kicking uselessly at the air as Damon held him lifted off the ground with a single arm.
"You stole from my late wife's collection," Damon growled softly. "And then you planted it on a child to cover your tracks."
"Mr. Cain... please..." Marcus gasped out.
"Lev!" Damon barked without turning his head.
Lev stepped into the room immediately. "Sir?"
May you like
"Take Marcus down to the cellar," Damon commanded. "Drain his accounts, take his badge, and call the federal prosecutor. I want him in a cell by midnight."
"Understood, boss," Lev said, dragging the wheezing guard out into the corridor.
