Chapter 14 - BLOOD AND RAIN|

Ten minutes later, the heavy iron front doors were cut open from the outside.

Rosa raised the fallen mercenary's handgun, her hands trembling violently, pointing it at the entrance.

A tall figure stepped through the smoke.

It was Damon. His tuxedo jacket was gone, his white shirt stained with dirt and blood, holding a smoking rifle in his hand. Behind him stood twenty heavily armed loyal Cain guards, sweeping the estate grounds.

Damon saw Rosa standing in the library doorway, holding a gun, covered in plaster dust.

He dropped his rifle, rushing across the room in three long strides.

"Rosa!" Damon called out, his voice cracking with emotion he rarely showed.

He reached her, pulling her firmly into his arms. Rosa dropped the gun, her composure finally breaking as she wept against his shoulder.

"Sophia... she's safe in the vault," Rosa sobbed. "Zeus... Zeus saved us..."

Damon looked down at the massive dog, who was lying near the doorway, wheezing softly but still keeping his eyes on the entrance.

"Get the medic in here now!" Damon bellowed to his men. "Save this dog!"

Two tactical medics rushed into the room with medical kits, tending to Zeus's wounds immediately.

Damon pulled back, looking into Rosa's eyes, his face turning into a mask of pure, absolute vengeance.

"Where is Victor Valenti?" Rosa asked, shaking.

"He ran to his docks," Damon whispered, his voice dangerously low. "He thinks he can catch a boat to South America. He thought he could break my home."

Damon turned toward Lev. "Prepare the convoy. We end the Valenti Syndicate tonight."
