Chapter 11 - POISON IN THE CUP|

"Rosa doesn't drink champagne from strangers," Damon said, his gray eyes locking onto Victor's with terrifying coldness.
Victor laughed nervously, though a flicker of annoyance crossed his eyes. "Strangers? Damon, we've shared shipping routes for five years. It's just a friendly gesture."
"Then drink it yourself, Victor," Damon challenged, his voice carrying clearly to the surrounding guests.
Victor froze. The glass trembled slightly in his hand. "I prefer my scotch, as you know—"
Without another word, Damon snatched the champagne glass from Victor's hand. He turned to Lev, who immediately pulled a small chemical test strip from his pocket and dipped it into the golden liquid.
Within three seconds, the clear strip turned a dark, violent crimson.
A collective gasp rippled through the surrounding crowd of elite onlookers.
"Potassium cyanide," Lev muttered, his hand dropping toward his weapon.
Victor backed away quickly, gesturing to his men disguised as waiters. "Kill them!"
Chaos erupted in the ballroom.
Screams echoed off the high ceilings as guests scrambled for the exits. Victor’s guards drew hidden pistols, but Damon was faster. He pulled his suppressed weapon and fired three precise shots, dropping the two nearest attackers before they could even raise their barrels.
"Lev! Get Rosa out through the service exit!" Damon roared over the gunfire.
"I'm not leaving you!" Rosa cried out, grabbing Damon's arm as he returned fire behind a heavy marble pillar.

"You have to live for Sophia!" Damon yelled back, his eyes wild with adrenaline. "Go! Now!"
Lev grabbed Rosa's shoulder, pulling her forcefully down the rear service hallway just as secondary explosions rocked the hotel lobby.
