Chapter 16 - The Corporate Purge

The massive boardroom at Valencia Estates was suffocatingly quiet. The twenty senior executives seated around the long glass table looked terrified, sweating through their expensive tailored suits.
Alejandro Vance stood at the head of the table. He was not an invited guest; he was the executioner. Following the seizure of Sergio Delgado’s fraudulent assets, Alejandro’s holding company had legally absorbed the entirety of Valencia Estates in a ruthless, hostile takeover authorized by the federal courts.
Elena Vance stood to his right, holding a thick stack of termination documents.
"Let me be absolutely clear," Alejandro began, his voice cutting through the tension like a razor blade. "This company was run as a criminal syndicate under Sergio Delgado. Every single one of you in this room either actively participated in the embezzlement, or you conveniently looked the other way while my company was bled dry."
A senior vice president nervously raised his hand. "Señor Vance, we were just following orders. Sergio threatened our jobs—"
"Silence," Alejandro snapped, his eyes flashing with dark fury. "I am not interested in your pathetic excuses. Competence requires integrity. You possess neither."
Alejandro gestured to Elena. She began walking around the table, dropping a termination folder in front of exactly fourteen executives.
"If there is a folder in front of you," Elena announced coldly, "your employment is terminated effective immediately. Your severance is forfeit due to violation of fiduciary duties. Security will escort you to the lobby. You have ten minutes to clear your desks."
"You cannot fire the entire executive board!" a furious director shouted, standing up. "The company will collapse!"

"I build skyscrapers, counselor," Alejandro replied softly, leaning his hands on the glass table. "I know exactly how to demolish a rotten foundation and build it back stronger. Get out of my building."
The terminated executives grumbled, realizing they had absolutely no legal recourse, and slowly filed out of the room under the watchful eyes of armed security. Alejandro watched them go, systematically purging the last remnants of Beatriz and Sergio’s toxic poison from his empire.
