Chapter 16 - The Confrontation

Valeria squeezed Alejandro’s wrist with a desperate, iron grip.
"Alejandro,"
Valeria whispered frantically, pointing a trembling finger upward toward the balcony.
Alejandro followed his wife’s terrified gaze.
When his eyes finally landed on the second floor, his entire body went completely rigid.
He saw the heavy bolt cutters. He saw the severed steel cable in her hand. And he saw the completely emotionless, dead eyes of the woman who had given birth to him.
The reality of the situation crashed down upon the CEO like a physical blow.
His own mother had meticulously calculated the timing, waited for his pregnant wife to stand directly under the ton of brass and glass, and intentionally severed the suspension cable to crush her to death.
"Mother..."
