Chapter 13 - The Husband's Rush

Lucia nodded weakly through her tears, clutching her bleeding arm.
"I saw the main support cable snapping from the second-floor service corridor,"
Lucia sobbed, her voice trembling wildly.
"I didn't have time to warn you to run. The heavy brass was already falling. I only had time to push you out from under it."
Before Valeria could fully process the heroic, terrifying act, a loud, desperate roar cut through the panicked crowd.
"VALERIA!"
Alejandro, the billionaire CEO and Valeria’s husband, violently pushed his way through the terrified guests, throwing a heavy wooden chair out of his path.
He had been in his office at the back of the mansion when the crash shook the foundation.
He sprinted across the dust-covered marble floor, his expensive suit ruined, and slid to his knees right beside his wife.
"Are you hurt? Is the baby okay?"
Alejandro demanded frantically, his hands gently mapping her face, her arms, and her stomach, his eyes wide with absolute, unadulterated terror.
"I'm bruised,"
May you like
Valeria gasped, gripping his suit jacket tightly.
"But the baby is moving. We are alive."
