Chapter 21 - The Siege Mentality
Valeria did not waste a single second.
She marched directly into the secure communications room of the safe house, locking the heavy steel door behind her.
"Call my mother. Tell her to deploy the Alpha private security contractors to the Northern District Safe House immediately,"
Valeria ordered her security chief, her voice cracking like a whip.
"Ms. Valeria, if Commander Ruiz decides to raid this facility under the guise of a false police warrant, we could be looking at an armed standoff with state forces,"
The security chief warned, his face pale with the gravity of the situation.
"Let him try,"
Valeria stated coldly, booting up her encrypted computer terminal.
"I am locking down the entire perimeter. No one enters. No one leaves. If he shows up with a badge, we meet him with a barrage of live news cameras."
Within two hours, four armored SUVs completely surrounded the foundation's gates. Heavily armed, highly trained private military contractors took up defensive positions along the perimeter walls.

Valeria was not going to let history repeat itself. She was not going to let a corrupt man with a badge drag a terrified woman back into the dark.
The fortress was fully operational, and the queen was ready for a siege.
