Chapter 30

The sudden collapse of the deposition sent catastrophic shockwaves through Arthur Sterling’s corporate empire. Within hours of Caldwell abruptly terminating the session, the transcripts were legally sealed and forwarded directly to the Securities and Exchange Commission and the federal prosecutor's office.
By Friday morning, the situation had entirely reversed.
Julian walked into the boardroom of his corporate headquarters, but this time, he wasn't summoned as a defendant. He walked in holding a sleek leather folder, his posture straight, radiating an aura of undeniable, unshakeable leadership. The board of directors sat in stunned silence as he took his rightful place at the head of the table.
"Gentlemen," Julian began, his voice calm and authoritative. "I have called this emergency meeting to present the findings of my own independent investigation."
He slid copies of the Vanguard payroll documents, the extortion evidence, and the deposition transcripts across the table. The chairman, Richard, adjusted his glasses and read the top page, his jaw dropping in absolute horror.
"Arthur Sterling orchestrated the entire media scandal," Julian explained smoothly, watching the realization dawn on the faces of the men who had suspended him just days earlier. "He hired my ex-wife, placed her in a massive executive position, and illegally used Vanguard corporate funds to finance a fraudulent custody lawsuit to distract me from his hostile takeover attempt."
"This is massive federal fraud," Richard whispered, staring at the evidence. "Sterling is exposed. His entire conglomerate is going to be raided by the SEC."
"They are already raiding his offices," Julian noted casually, checking his expensive watch. "I spoke with the federal prosecutor an hour ago. Sterling has been formally indicted for corporate espionage, extortion, and perjury. Vanguard's stock is currently in a freefall."
The boardroom erupted into chaotic, relieved chatter. The men who had doubted him were now looking at him with a mixture of profound awe and deep apology.

"Julian," Richard said, standing up and extending his hand across the table. "We owe you a massive, unequivocal apology. We panicked. You showed incredible resilience under impossible pressure. We are formally reinstating you as CEO, effective immediately, with full operational control."
Julian shook his hand, accepting the victory. He had saved his company, but more importantly, he had protected his family.
