Chapter 25

Lily’s unwavering confidence sparked a renewed fire in Julian’s heart, but it also ignited something fierce and analytical within Lily herself. Later that evening, after the baby had been put to sleep and Julian was in his study pacing the floor while on the phone with his lawyer, Lily sat at her desk in her bedroom.
She opened her blue spiral notebook, the desk lamp casting a warm circle of light over the blank pages. She began to meticulously write down everything she could remember from the confrontation with Victoria at the school. She documented Victoria’s expensive clothes, her exact words, and the aggressive way she had grabbed her wrist.
But as Lily reviewed her notes, a specific detail suddenly crystallized in her memory. A detail she hadn't realized was important until this exact moment.
When Victoria had forcefully grabbed her wrist, she had used her left hand. Victoria had been wearing a massive, incredibly flashy diamond ring on her index finger. It wasn't an engagement ring; it looked like a custom-designed piece of corporate jewelry. Lily, always observant of small details, remembered the specific logo engraved on the gold band. It was a stylized 'V' intertwined with an 'H'.
Lily quickly sketched the logo into her notebook. V and H.
She grabbed her tablet and opened a search engine. She typed in the letters, followed by "corporate logo". She scrolled through hundreds of images for twenty minutes until she finally saw it. It was the exact logo from the ring.
It belonged to Vanguard Holdings. The massive shell corporation that owned the penthouse Victoria was currently living in.
But Lily dug deeper. She searched for the board of directors for Vanguard Holdings. The CEO was listed as a man named Arthur Sterling. But the Vice President of Acquisitions, newly appointed just two weeks ago, was listed as Victoria Vance.

Lily gasped, her eyes widening in absolute shock. Victoria wasn't just living in Sterling's penthouse; she was officially employed by him. She was being legally paid millions of dollars in corporate salary to destroy their family.
Lily grabbed her blue notebook and sprinted out of her room, heading straight for her father's study.
