Chapter 4 - The Moretti Storm

|

An hour later, the heavy oak doors of the Rossi mansion slammed open so hard the crystal chandeliers trembled.

Vance Moretti, the ruthless Don of the Moretti crime family, stormed into the grand foyer. He was flanked by six heavily armed enforcers, his face flushed red with unbridled rage.

Bianca followed right behind him, a ice pack pressed to her face, pointing dramatically toward the dining hall.

“Where is he?!” Vance roared, his deep voice echoing through the marble halls. “Dominic Rossi! Get your ass out here!”

Dominic descended the grand staircase with deliberate, terrifying slowness. He had changed into a dark dress shirt, buttoned up to his throat, looking entirely unfazed by the armed mob standing in his home.

I stood near the balcony of the second floor alongside Carmela, watching the confrontation unfold below.

“You broke the treaty!” Vance bellowed, pointing a thick finger at Dominic. “You publicly humiliated my daughter in front of her security team! You threw her out like garbage!”

“She raised her hand against my mother,” Dominic replied calmly, stopping at the bottom step. “And she slashed the face of my mother’s companion.”

“She’s a damn maid!” Vance screamed. “A nobody! A piece of trash you hire to scrub your toilets! You broke an alliance that took three years to build over a servant’s bruised cheek?!”

Bianca stepped forward, her voice dripping with poison. “He put his hands on me, Father! He ordered his men to throw me out! All because that fat, ugly maid threw herself in front of your ring!”

Dominic’s eyes narrowed into slits of ice.

In a fraction of a second, Dominic drew his weapon from his shoulder holster and aimed it directly between Vance Moretti’s eyes.

Simultaneously, twenty Rossi hitmen emerged from the upper balconies, their automatic rifles clicking as they aimed down at Vance and his six enforcers. The Moretti guards froze, their hands hovering nervously over their weapons.

“Call her a servant again,” Dominic whispered, his tone so deadly the temperature in the room seemed to drop. “Call my mother confused again. And I will leave your bodies on the front lawn for the street dogs.”

Vance gasped, realizing he had walked straight into a trap. He stared at Dominic, seeing the unhinged monster beneath the polished suit.

“You’re choosing a maid over the Moretti empire?” Vance asked, his voice shaking with disbelief.

“I am choosing honor over trash,” Dominic replied coldly. “The alliance is dead, Vance. Get out of my house before I start shooting.”
