Chapter 15 - The Breach

|
The explosion rocked the estate at precisely 4:15 PM.
The heavy wrought-iron gates at the front of the Beacon Hill property were blown inward with military-grade plastic explosives. Black SUVs roared up the cobblestone driveway, screeching to a halt outside the main entrance.
Gunfire shattered the quiet afternoon.
Automatic rounds tore through the grand glass foyer, sending crystal fragments raining down like deadly snow. Gabriel’s guards immediately returned fire, tactical pistols and assault rifles echoing off the high ceilings.
Inside the reinforced study, Gabriel pulled a custom matte-black pistol from his shoulder holster, checking the chamber with cold efficiency.
"Harper, get behind the desk!" Gabriel commanded as bullets chewed through the heavy oak door.
"Gabriel, look out!" Harper screamed as a tactical shooter burst through the shattered window frame behind them.
Gabriel spun on his heel with terrifying speed.
Crack! Crack!
Two precise shots hit the intruder squarely in the chest, sending the mercenary tumbling backward through the broken glass into the garden below.
Gabriel grabbed Harper’s waist, pulling her flush against his body as drywall dust rained down on them.
"Where is Noah?" Gabriel growled, his heart pounding against his ribs—not out of fear for himself, but for her.
"Marcus took him to the subterranean vault!" Harper gasped, clinging tightly to Gabriel’s bulletproof vest.

"Good," Gabriel gritted out, reloading his weapon with a smooth flick of his wrist.
"Now stay behind me. We’re taking the fight to them."
