Chapter 24 - Arthur stood quietly in the corner of the busy foundation office, holding a cup of black coffee.

He watched Lily direct a team of five lawyers, three accountants, and several advocates.
She was currently reviewing a complex financial spreadsheet, pointing out hidden assets with expert precision.
She spoke with total confidence, her voice commanding the room without ever needing to raise it.
Arthur remembered the night he had driven to the mansion, gripping the steering wheel in sheer terror.
He remembered pulling her out of that dark house, wrapping his coat around her trembling shoulders.
He remembered the years he spent standing between her and the world, shielding her from the wind.
Looking at her now, a profound, bittersweet realization settled deeply into Arthur's chest.
She no longer needed his absolute, physical protection.
She had forged her own armor, and it was significantly stronger than anything he could have provided.
She was no longer the fragile daughter who needed to be rescued from the monsters.
She was the warrior who actively hunted the monsters down to rescue others.
Lily finished her meeting and walked over to Arthur, a tired but deeply satisfied smile on her face.
"We just secured the injunction for the Smith case," Lily announced proudly.
"Her ex-husband's accounts are entirely frozen as of ten minutes ago."
"You are a force of nature, Lily," Arthur said, his voice thick with overwhelming pride.
"I had a good teacher," Lily replied, leaning her head against his shoulder for a brief moment.
"I used to think my job was to keep you completely safe from the world," Arthur confessed quietly.
"But I see now that my actual job was just to keep you standing until you learned how to fight."
"You did more than that, Dad," Lily said, looking him directly in the eyes.
"You taught me that I was actually worth fighting for."
Arthur smiled, realizing his role had officially transitioned from the primary protector to the proud advisor.
