Chapter 26 - The True Dawn

I unlocked the front door of my Mission Bay condo.
The space looked entirely different than it had six months ago. The slashed furniture was gone, replaced by beautiful, modern pieces. The destroyed floorboards had been seamlessly repaired. The lingering ghosts of Adrian, Julian, and Marcus had been thoroughly and permanently exorcised.
The afternoon sunlight spilled across the hardwood floors, casting a warm, golden glow over the living room.

I had walked through absolute fire. I had faced down billionaires, mercenaries, and masterminds. I had been tested, broken, and pushed to the absolute edge of human endurance.
And I hadn't just survived. I had forged myself into something unbreakable.
I poured myself a glass of wine, walked out onto the balcony, and breathed in the salty ocean air. There were no hitmen waiting in the fog. There were no hidden cameras or bugged phones. There was only the endless, brilliant horizon of a future I had built with my own two hands.

The nightmare was officially over.
And for the first time in my entire life, I was completely, unapologetically free.
