Chapter 17 - The Avalanche of Evidence

Jimena Robles did not waste time with pleasantries. She unleashed an absolute avalanche of irrefutable evidence.
"Your Honor, we submit Exhibit A: the audio recordings from the Polanco Industrial Club," Jimena stated, sliding a flash drive across the clerk's desk. "Two hours of unedited audio proving the extreme physical and psychological torture inflicted upon my client by Mauricio Del Valle, with the active encouragement of his family."
Emilio jumped up. "Objection! Those recordings were obtained illegally!"
"Overruled," the magistrate snapped. "Sit down, counselor."
Next, Jimena called the digital forensics expert to the stand. He meticulously dismantled Emilio’s fake emails, showing the court exactly how the hackers had been paid using Doña Rebeca’s charitable foundation funds.
Then, Diana Torres took the stand. She presented the hidden USB drive containing months of photographs showing Raquel’s previous injuries, completely corroborating the history of domestic violence that Mauricio had tried to hide.
Finally, the courtroom doors opened, and Elena Duarte walked down the aisle.
Mauricio’s face went completely white. Rebeca gasped loudly.
Elena took the stand, her voice shaking but her resolve absolute. She testified about her own marriage to Mauricio. She detailed the exact same pattern of abuse: the isolation, the gaslighting, the fabricated evidence, and the brutal extortion executed by Emilio to force her into silence.
"They told me nobody would ever believe a crazy woman," Elena cried, looking directly at Mauricio. "But I am not crazy. And neither is Raquel."

The courtroom was dead silent. The illusion of the perfect, aristocratic Del Valle family was completely shattered. They were exposed as a syndicate of abusers, extortionists, and frauds.
The magistrate looked at the defense table with absolute disgust.
