Chapter 11 - A Father's Embrace

Guillermo didn't strike Mauricio. He simply looked at him with an expression of such profound, lethal disgust that Mauricio physically shrank back.
Without a word, Guillermo shrugged off his heavy, expensive suit jacket. He dropped to his knees on the marble floor, heedless of the dirt and blood.
He wrapped the warm jacket around Raquel’s trembling shoulders, covering her torn dress and bruised back.
"I've got you," Guillermo whispered, his voice cracking with a fierce, heartbreaking tenderness. "I'm right here, sweetheart. Nobody will ever touch you again."
Raquel practically collapsed into his chest. She didn't have the strength to speak. Her lips were pale, her back felt like it was on fire, and a massive sob was lodged in her throat. But she didn't need to say anything. Guillermo held her tightly, providing the physical shield she had been denied for two years.
"Arrest him," Guillermo commanded, his voice echoing loudly across the floor.
Two uniformed officers immediately stepped forward, grabbing Mauricio by the arms and violently wrenching them behind his back. The sharp click of the handcuffs sounded like a gunshot in the silent room.
"This is an outrage!" Doña Rebeca finally shrieked, her aristocratic composure completely shattering. "Do you know who we are? Let my son go!"
Emilio, realizing the severity of the situation, slowly backed away into the crowd. He turned toward the side emergency exit, intending to slip away and begin shredding documents.
But Guillermo’s security team was too fast. A massive contractor stepped in front of the exit doors, crossing his arms and blocking Emilio’s path completely.

"You aren't going anywhere, counselor," the security guard growled.
The trap had sprung, and the Del Valles were firmly caught inside.
