Chapter 6 - THE FATHER WHO CAME BACK FROM THE GRAVEThe entire mansion stood frozen.

Nobody understood what was happening.
Nobody except one person.
Valentina.
Because when she saw him...
She collapsed into a chair.
"No..."
Her voice shook.
"No, you can't be alive."
The man looked at her.
"Hello, Valentina."
Her face turned pale.
Like she was seeing a ghost.
I stepped forward.
"Explain."
The man looked at me.
"I know this is impossible."
"Impossible doesn't exist anymore."
My voice carried through the room.
"Everyone I trusted lied to me."
"So start talking."
He nodded slowly.
"My name is Lorenzo Rossi."
My father's name.
The name written on my birth certificate.
The man everyone said died in a car explosion.
"I didn't die."
"Matteo saved me."
Everyone turned.
I frowned.
"Matteo?"
Lorenzo nodded.
"Yes."
"The man you believe betrayed you..."
"Was the only person who tried to protect you."
My jaw tightened.
"Then why did he let me believe he was my enemy?"
"Because he had no choice."
Lorenzo looked toward the hidden room.
"Twelve years ago, we discovered Adrian Vale's plan."
"Adrian wanted control of the Rossi empire."
"But he couldn't take it legally."
"So he created chaos."
"He destroyed families."
"He erased identities."
"And he replaced heirs."
A cold feeling moved through me.
"The children."
Lorenzo nodded.
"Your brother was supposed to inherit half of everything."
"He was the first heir."
"But Adrian took him."
"Why?"
Lorenzo's expression changed.
"Because your brother carried something."
"What?"
"A secret."
"What secret?"
Lorenzo looked at Sophia.
Then at the newborn.
Then finally at me.
"The location of the original Rossi inheritance documents."
I frowned.
"Documents?"
"The true ownership of the empire."
My heart sank.
"The papers everyone thought were destroyed?"
"Exactly."
A silence.
Then a voice came from the doorway.
Everyone turned.
Matteo.
Blood on his shirt.
But alive.
"You should have stayed hidden, Lorenzo."
My father looked at him.
"I was hidden for twelve years."
"I think I deserve to see my son."
Matteo looked at me.
And for the first time...
I saw regret.
Not guilt.
Regret.
"I wanted to tell you."
"Then why didn't you?"
His eyes lowered.
"Because every person who knew the truth ended up dead."
Silence.
Then Sophia stepped forward.
"But why did Elena write that you failed?"
Matteo looked at her.
Because that question hurt him.
"Because I did."
He swallowed.
"I promised Elena I would protect both children."
"And I only saved one."
My expression changed.
"Where is my brother?"
Matteo looked away.
A terrible silence followed.
Then he said:
"He is alive."
May you like
A pause.
"But he doesn't know who he is."
