At 4:00 PM, her phone buzzed on the drafting table.

The screen lit up.

A name she hadn't spoken in two years flashed across the glass.

It was the past, knocking gently on the door, testing the locks.

Testing to see if she was still fragile.

She stared at the glowing screen.

Her pulse did not spike.

Her hands did not shake.

Her breathing remained perfectly, undeniably steady.

She didn't block the number out of panic or fear.

She simply swiped left.

Delete.

The ghost vanished into the digital void, leaving no trace behind.
