Chapter 10: The Cold Observation from Above

Standing safely at the top of the stairs, the woman in the red dress looked down at the scene with chilling detachment. Beside her, the man in the grey suit leaned in, whispering something into her ear with a calm, unbothered demeanor. They did not look like criminals fleeing justice; they looked like monarchs surveying their domain after suppressing a minor rebellion. Their complete lack of empathy was horrifying to the few guests brave enough to glance their way.
The red-dressed woman crossed her arms, her fingers tapping rhythmically against her elbow. There was no panic in her posture, only a cold calculation of the fallout and how their vast influence could manipulate the narrative. She believed her wealth and social standing acted as an impenetrable shield against any legal consequences. To her, the injured girl on the floor was merely an obstacle that had been swept aside.
This arrogant security radiated from the upper landing, casting a dark shadow over the entire estate. The divide between the privileged perpetrators and their victims had never been more pronounced. As the man continued to comfort the injured woman below, the duo at the top of the stairs turned slightly, preparing to make a calculated exit before authorities could be summoned.
