Chapter 6 - THE RETURN OF THE KING|

Smoke rolled through the luxury suite as Marro's two bodyguards reached for their shoulder holsters.
They never cleared their leather.
Marco and two tactical operators swept into the room, disarming the guards with violent, practiced efficiency, dropping them both to the floor in handcuffs.
Vincent Marro stumbled backward, clutching his ears, his eyes watering wildly as the smoke cleared.
Standing in the center of the doorway was Dominic Russo.
He was dressed in a charcoal three-piece suit, his coat immaculately tailored, looking entirely unbothered, lethal, and completely alive. Beside him stood Nora, wearing a sharp black trench coat over clean clothes, holding a secure tablet.
Chloe backed away until her legs hit the edge of the velvet sofa, her face draining of every drop of color.
"D-Dominic?" she gasped, her voice shrill with absolute terror. "You're... you were..."
"Dead?" Dominic stepped into the room, his boots stepping over the broken glass. "I told you, Chloe. My empire doesn't crumble because of a few fake bank statements."
"It was a trap!" Marro roared, trying to stand up, but Marco jammed the barrel of a suppressed pistol directly against the back of his neck.
"Keep your seat, Vincent," Dominic said coldly. "You bought fake intel from a greedy woman who didn't even realize my penthouse had three independent security loops."
Dominic turned his gaze to Chloe. Her hands were shaking so violently she had to hold onto the armchair for support.
"Dominic, please!" Chloe sobbed, tears instantly ruining her mascara. "He forced me! Marro threatened to kill my family if I didn't give him your passcodes! I was doing it to save you!"

Dominic smiled—a terrifying, hollow expression that made even Marro cringe.
"You left a burner phone in your green robe, Chloe," Dominic whispered, walking until he stood inches from her. "I read every single message. You sold me for forty percent."
