Chapter 14 - THE STORM AT THE LIGHTHOUSE|

Rain lashed against the coastal cliffs as the three SUVs dived into the dark forest surrounding the Moretti lighthouse estate.

Thunder boomed across the Atlantic, drowning out the sound of Dominic's team cutting through the estate's outer chain-link perimeter.

Inside the sprawling stone mansion, lighting flickered erratically as the gale-force winds battered the windows.

In the central library, tied to a heavy wooden chair, was Chloe Marlow.

Her silk jumpsuit was torn, her face bruised, and her eye swollen shut. Standing over her was Julian Moretti—a tall, skeletal man with pale gray eyes and a scar that ran from his ear to his lip.

"I told you!" Chloe sobbed hysterically, blood dripping from her lip onto her collar. "I don't have the master key! Dominic changed the encryption before the raid!"

"Lie," Julian hissed, slapping her across the face with his leather glove. "Vincent said you had full administrative access!"

"Vincent was a fool!" Chloe screamed. "Dominic knew everything! He tricked us both!"

"Then you are worthless to me," Julian said calmly, drawing a silver revolver from his waistband and resting the cold barrel against her forehead.

BOOM!

The heavy mahogany doors of the library blew inward in a spray of splinters as a breaching charge detonated.

Through the flash and smoke, Dominic stepped into the room like a demon rising from the storm.

"Julian!" Dominic roared, his rifle barking twice before Moretti's personal guards could even raise their weapons.
