Chapter 15 - The Unveiling|

Two months later, spring had arrived in full bloom across Connecticut. The grounds of the Sterling estate were radiant with green grass, blooming cherry blossoms, and warm sunlight.
At seven o'clock on a Saturday evening, the estate hosted the annual Sterling Spring Gala—a gathering of two hundred of the nation’s most prominent philanthropists and business leaders.
In the master suite upstairs, Elise stood before the full-length mirror.
She wore an ethereal emerald-green silk gown designed by Oscar de la Renta—the same designer she had worn on that terrible night six months ago. But this time, the dress wasn't meant to hide a painful secret. It fit her frame perfectly, emphasizing her radiant beauty, her confidence, and her restored spirit.
Around her neck hung a breathtaking diamond necklace—a gift from Julian that afternoon.
A soft knock sounded at the door.
Julian stepped inside, wearing a flawless black tuxedo. He stopped in his tracks, his gray eyes sweeping over her, his breath catching in his throat.
"Elise..." Julian murmured, stepping closer. "You are... magnificent."
Elise blushed softly, turning to face him. "Is it too much?"
"It’s not enough," Julian smiled, reaching out to gently touch her hand. "You look like a queen."
Downstairs, the grand ballroom was filled with music, champagne, and lively conversation. As Julian and Elise descended the sweeping marble staircase together, the entire room went quiet.
Guests looked up, mesmerized by the sight of the financial titan walking hand-in-hand with the woman who had captivated the country’s heart.
"Look at her," a prominent female philanthropist whispered to her husband. "She survived that nightmare and came back stronger than ever."

"And Sterling looks at her like she’s the only woman in the world," her husband agreed softly.
Julian guided Elise through the crowd, his hand resting securely against the small of her back, protecting her, honoring her, and letting the entire world know that she belonged beside him.
