Julian Vance stepped onto the terrace, looking sharp and distinguished in a charcoal suit.
Over the past year, Julian and I had worked closely together to rebuild the company. He had proven to be an loyal business partner—a man of deep integrity, sharp intellect, and profound respect for my authority.
“Good morning, Chairwoman,” Julian said with a warm smile, sitting across from me.
“Good morning, Julian,” I replied. “How are the European shipping negotiations progressing?”
“Extremely well,” Julian said, opening his briefcase. “Our London team secured the preliminary agreement for the North Sea logistics corridor. But... that’s not the only reason I’m here today.”
I raised an eyebrow. “Oh?”
Julian pulled out a sealed black leather folder and placed it gently on the table between us.
“Our intelligence team intercepted a series of encrypted communications originating from the state prison where Ethan Vale is serving his sentence,” Julian revealed, his tone turning serious.
My smile faded slightly. “Ethan? He has no access to corporate accounts.”
“Ethan doesn't,” Julian agreed. “But someone else does. It appears Ethan wasn't acting alone when he set up those offshore accounts four years ago.”

Julian opened the folder, revealing a series of wire transfers connected to a powerful international conglomerate based in Geneva.
“Ethan was just a mid-level pawn, Victoria,” Julian said softly, meeting my eyes. “The real mastermind behind the embezzlement scheme was using Ethan to infiltrate Sterling Global from the inside.”
