Chapter 9 - The Front Door Shatters

Everyone turned toward the grand foyer.
The heavy, steel-reinforced double doors hadn't just been unlocked—they had been completely blown off their hinges, lying flat on the crushed marble flooring.
Standing in the doorway, silhouetted by the headlights of a dozen black armored SUVs idling on the driveway, was my father.
He wore a tailored black overcoat, a silk tie, and held a silver-tipped walking cane. He wasn't the hunched, tired truck driver he pretended to be at family dinners. He stood tall, radiating an aura of absolute, terrifying power.
Behind him stood twenty silent men in sharp black suits, holding suppressed automatic weapons, their faces hidden behind tactical masks.
The guests completely lost their minds. Women screamed, falling to their knees. The board members threw their hands in the air, backing away against the walls.
"Oh my god," one of the executives sobbed, dropping to the floor.
My father walked slowly into the room. The men in black fanned out instantly, securing the perimeter, pointing their weapons at the crowd. Nobody dared to breathe.
