Chapter 32 - Cornering the Beast

|

Back at Sterling Imperial, Sarah Lin and I executed the final phase of our restructuring plan.

Using the master signet ring's digital encryption key, we unsealed the remaining hidden accounts of Vanguard Apex. Over fifty million dollars in ill-gotten gains were permanently frozen and transferred directly into the federal victim restitution fund.

"Director Sterling!" Sarah shouted excitedly, watching the live financial ledger clear on her monitor. "The entire Vanguard Apex network has been successfully liquidated! Every debt associated with Aegis Capital has been wiped out!"

"What is our total valuation now, Sarah?" I asked, looking out over the city.

"Sterling Holdings' asset valuation has officially crossed one hundred million dollars!" Sarah announced proudly. "We are the single largest private real estate and development firm in the region!"

"And the foundation?"

"The Elena Sterling Foundation has established four new state-of-the-art facilities this month alone," Sarah reported, her eyes shining with emotion. "Over twelve hundred women have been provided with top-tier legal aid, emergency housing, and financial independence grants. We have completely rewritten the narrative."

A deep, profound warmth filled my chest.

It wasn't the bitter satisfaction of hurting those who had wronged me. It was the everlasting, immovable strength of true purpose.
