Returning to the Rest House that evening felt different. It didn't feel like returning to a shelter; it felt like walking into her own life.

Eleanor was in her office, sorting through a massive stack of new intake files. The need for the Rest House was overwhelming, and the administrative burden was growing daily.

Clara knocked gently on the open door frame.

Eleanor looked up, adjusting her reading glasses. "Clara. How do you feel?"

"Like I can finally breathe," Clara said. She stepped into the office, her posture tall and unburdened. "Eleanor... I don't want to just stay here and rest anymore."

Eleanor looked at the mountain of files, then back at Clara. The micro-expression of profound respect softened Eleanor’s sharp features.
