"What is this?" Victor asked, his voice losing its calm composure.
"That is the secondary ledger for the Grand Plaza renovation project," I explained, leaning back against my pillows. "Dominic told you he needed fifty million dollars to complete the luxury suites. What he didn't tell you is that thirty million of his existing capital was funnelled through two shell companies in Panama."
Victor's jaw tightened. "Who owns the shell companies?"
"Dominic and his mother," I said smoothly. "He wasn't merging with Vance Global to build a hotel empire, Mr. Vance. He was merging with you so your fifty million dollars would cover the hole left by his illegal embezzlement before federal auditors caught him."
Victor stared at the paper, his hands trembling with suppressed fury.
"He was going to use my daughter's inheritance to pay off his criminal debt," Victor whispered, the realization hitting him like a physical blow.
"He was going to use both of us," I corrected him. "He thought I was too soft to speak, and he thought your daughter was too young to notice. He built his entire life on the assumption that women don't read the fine print."
Victor looked up from the document, staring at me with a new level of deep respect.

"You knew all of this six months ago?" he asked.
"I knew six months ago," I nodded. "But six months ago, I was just a pregnant ex-wife with no leverage. Now, I own thirty-five percent of the voting shares, and you hold the credit lines. So the question is, Mr. Vance... what are we going to do with Dominic Vale?"
