Chapter 35 - The True Horizon

As the night deepened and the guests slowly made their way home, the coastal house fell into a comfortable, profound silence.
Sofia was fast asleep in her crib, clutching a small, stuffed seahorse.
Valeria and Daniel stood on the wooden balcony of their master bedroom, exactly where they had stood a year ago. The cool, salty sea breeze blew through her hair, carrying the fresh scent of the ocean.
Daniel wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, resting his chin gently on her shoulder.
"We really did it," Daniel murmured, looking out at the endless horizon where the dark sea met the starlit sky.
"We survived," Valeria whispered, repeating the vow she had made to herself at the bottom of the pool. But this time, there was absolutely no fear attached to the words. It was a statement of undeniable, victorious fact.
