Chapter 33 - Restoration of the Dead

|
Inside Box #412 lay three thick, leather-bound accounting ledgers, their covers embossed with gold lettering, along with four encrypted memory drives sealed in anti-static bags.
Isabella carefully lifted the top ledger and opened it.
The pages were filled with meticulously organized financial entries, bank routing numbers, wire confirmations, and official corporate seals linking several prominent European banking families to illegal maritime smuggling operations spanning three continents.
"Look at these dates," Isabella whispered, her finger tracing down a column of transactions. "These wire transfers continued even after Vincent’s arrest. They simply routed the capital through new front companies in Luxembourg."
Lorenzo leaned over her shoulder, his razor-sharp mind instantly analyzing the complex web of shell entities.
"They didn't just fund Vincent," Lorenzo realized, his voice dropping to a low, dangerous rumble. "They funded three other syndicates across North America. Vincent was just one gear in a massive international machine."
Isabella closed the ledger with a soft thud, looking up at her husband.
"Claire gave her life to secure this evidence," Isabella said, her voice filled with deep, unwavering conviction. "She hid it where Vincent’s men could never reach it, waiting for the day when the DeLuca enterprise was strong enough and clean enough to bring it into the light."
Lorenzo reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, dialing a private line.
"Rachel," Lorenzo said the moment the call connected. "We have the master ledgers from Box #412. Notify the United States Attorney General and the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague."
On the other end of the line, Rachel let out a long, stunned breath. "Lorenzo... are you certain about what you’re holding?"
Lorenzo looked at Isabella, seeing the brave, beautiful woman who had survived the shadows to stand triumphantly in the light.
"We have the original ledgers, Rachel," Lorenzo stated with absolute authority. "Every transaction. Every name. Every bank."
"I’m calling a federal task force right now," Rachel declared. "Bring the evidence directly to the Southern District Court."
Lorenzo hung up the phone and looked at Isabella.
"Are you ready for one last storm, my love?" he asked softly.
Isabella smiled, her green eyes blazing with pure, triumphant light.
May you like
"Lorenzo," she said, taking his arm, "we are the storm."
