Chapter 12 - Frozen Veins

|

Victor’s hands began to shake violently as he flipped to the second page of the legal document.

“This... this is a mistake,” Victor stammered, his voice dropping into a high-pitched panic. “I’m the President of Hayes Development! I live here!”

“You were an employee of a subsidiary,” Thomas Vance corrected him calmly. “And as of 12:01 AM this morning, your employment with Hayes Legacy Holdings has been terminated for gross violation of corporate conduct.”

Vanessa grabbed Victor’s arm, her voice rising into a shriek.

“Victor, do something! Tell them to leave! Tell them who you are!”

Victor didn't answer her. He was staring at the third page, where every single line item of his comfortable life was listed in crisp black ink.

Property ownership: Hayes Legacy Holdings LLC (100% Eleanor Hayes).

Vehicles: Two 2025 luxury SUVs – Repossession in progress.

Corporate Credit Accounts: Canceled.

Personal Expense Accounts: Frozen pending forensic audit.

Household Staff Contracts: Terminated.

“Your corporate credit cards were deactivated four hours ago, Mr. Hayes,” Thomas continued without mercy. “The sports cars in your garage are currently being hitched to a flatbed tow truck outside your gates. And the household staff has been reassigned to other corporate properties.”

Vanessa’s jaw dropped. She looked toward the kitchen archway, where the head chef and two maids were already carrying their personal belongings out the side door, completely ignoring her cries.

“They can't do this!” Vanessa shrieked, tears of sheer panic breaking through her makeup. “Victor, tell me this is a bad dream!”
