Chapter 7 - The Makeover

|
The master suite of the penthouse was transformed into a high-end salon within thirty minutes. Ethan had summoned a team of elite stylists, the kind who prepared A-list actresses for the Met Gala.
Grace sat in front of a massive, illuminated mirror, her anxiety spiking as three women buzzed around her.
"Your bone structure is incredible, darling," a woman named François muttered, aggressively contouring Grace's cheeks. "Why have you been hiding this under a terrible ponytail for six years?"
"I was cleaning toilets," Grace replied dryly. "Glamour wasn't really in the job description."
They washed, cut, and styled her dark hair into soft, cascading waves that framed her face flawlessly. The makeup was subtle but striking, highlighting her large, expressive brown eyes and giving her skin a flawless, radiant glow.
Then came the clothes.
They didn't dress her in something flashy or cheap. They brought out a tailored, ivory-white power suit by Tom Ford. It fit her curves perfectly, exuding an aura of undeniable authority and quiet, expensive elegance. She slipped her feet into a pair of nude, sensible designer heels.
When the styling team stepped back, Grace stared at her reflection. She gasped softly.
The exhausted, invisible single mother from Astoria was gone. Staring back at her was a warrior. A woman who looked like she could walk into a boardroom and dismantle a billionaire with a single sentence.
"You look..."
Grace turned around. Ethan had wheeled into the room silently. He stopped dead in his tracks, his eyes sweeping over her from head to toe. The breath visibly caught in his throat, and the usually stoic CEO looked completely, utterly speechless.
"Do I look the part?" Grace asked, suddenly feeling a flush of heat creeping up her neck under his intense gaze.
May you like
"You don't look the part," Ethan murmured, wheeling closer until he was just inches away. He reached out, his knuckles lightly brushing against the fine silk of her blazer. "You look like you own the entire building. Richard Cole is going to be terrified of you."
Grace smiled, her confidence blooming under his praise. "Then let's go introduce him to the new management."
