As my father walked me down the aisle, I glanced toward the pool. My mother stood nearby, radiating a quiet strength. The blue dress, a symbol of resilience, was now displayed in the lobby, accompanied by a small card: "Dignity does not disappear when someone tries to humiliate you. It becomes visible in the way you rise."
Samuel took my hand, his voice a gentle whisper. "If you need more time, we can wait."
His concern was for me, not for the spectacle or the expectations of others.
