That evening, after Lily was tucked safely into bed, Sarah and Mark sat together on their back porch. The sky was a brilliant canvas of violet and bruised orange, fading slowly into the deep indigo of night.
"You did good today," Mark said quietly, wrapping a warm blanket around her shoulders and pulling her close. "The new aerospace case is going to make waves."

"You built an army," Mark chuckled softly.
