The sun began to bleed over the horizon, painting the sky in brilliant shades of gold and crimson.
Liam sat on the weathered wooden bench outside the cottage. The air smelled of salt, diesel, and absolute freedom.
He looked out at the ocean, watching the waves roll in, steady and constant like a heartbeat.
