Chapter 16 - THE PUBLIC EXECUTION|

Gianni Marciano dropped his champagne glass. It shattered onto the marble floor, sending sparkling foam splashing over his white leather shoes.
"Enzo..." Gianni gasped, his face turning as white as a bedsheet. "You... you're alive?!"
Senator Falcone stood up abruptly, his chair screeching against the floor. "Guards! Shoot him! He's a traitor!"
"Touch a weapon," Tomaso’s voice echoed from the balcony above, "and twenty sniper rounds tear through this ballroom before you clear your holsters."
The surrounding mob bosses—men who had survived decades of underworld wars—remained frozen in their seats, sensing the lethal trap that had just been sprung.

I pulled the silver flash drive from my clutch and plugged it directly into the master server port.

"Ladies and gentlemen," I announced loudly into the master microphone, my voice echoing through every speaker in the hotel. "My name is Amelia Duarte. Eight years ago, my father was murdered for documenting the truth. Tonight, his work is complete."
The fifty-foot digital projection screens behind the main stage instantly flickered to life.
