Chapter 15 - CRASHING THE METROPOLITAN|

The Grand Ballroom of the Metropolitan Hotel was a fortress of gold, crystal, and blood money.
Over three hundred high-ranking members of the five crime families, state politicians, corrupt judges, and syndicate bosses sat around massive round tables covered in white linen and champagne glasses.
At the center elevated table sat Gianni Marciano, looking triumphant in a white tuxedo jacket, alongside Senator Falcone—a heavy-set man with silver hair and calculating, greedy eyes.
"To the memory of my brother, Enzo," Gianni declared into the microphone, raising a glass of vintage champagne. "A brave leader who lost his life tragically yesterday. May his soul rest in peace."
"Hear, hear!" the crowd toasted, raising their glasses in unison.
"And now," Gianni continued, his face glowing with absolute arrogance, "as the sole remaining heir of the Marciano line, I take full command of our family's shipping network—"
BANG!
The heavy double doors of the Grand Ballroom slammed open with a deafening crack that echoed across the vaulted ceiling.
The chatter in the room instantly died. Every guard in the room reached under their jackets.
Through the clearing mist of the entrance stepped Enzo Marciano, carrying a heavy silver walking cane, flanked by Tomaso and two loyal capos.

Beside Enzo, holding his arm with graceful, regal poise, walked a woman in an emerald green velvet dress.
"I’m afraid my funeral was slightly premature, brother," Enzo’s voice boomed through the silent room like a thunderclap.
