Chapter 3

Chapter 3: Enter the Titan
Outside the ballroom, a sleek black Maybach pulled up to the red carpet. The flashes of paparazzi cameras erupted like lightning as the driver opened the rear door. Out stepped David Harrington, the billionaire CEO of Harrington Global Holdings. He was a man who wore his wealth like armor—a bespoke Italian suit, a platinum watch that cost more than most houses, and an expression of perpetual impatience.
"Keep them back," David snapped at his security detail as the reporters shouted questions about his recent corporate acquisitions.
His executive assistant, a nervous young man named Thomas, trotted behind him with a glowing tablet. "Sir, you only need to make an appearance for forty-five minutes. Smile for the charity photographers, shake hands with the foundation president, and then we can leave for your dinner at Le Bernardin."
David adjusted his cuffs, his jaw set. "I detest these functions. A room full of bleeding hearts asking for handouts. But the PR department says my image needs 'softening,' so let's get this over with. Do not let anyone pitch me a startup tonight, Thomas. If someone tries, cut them off."
"Understood, Mr. Harrington."

As the massive double doors of the ballroom swung open, the murmurs of the crowd shifted. Heads turned. Whispers rippled through the room. David Harrington was a titan of industry, known for his ruthless takeovers and aggressive business tactics. His arrival shifted the gravity of the room immediately.
David strode into the ballroom, ignoring the pleasantries of the greeters. He was already looking at his phone, scanning an urgent email about a merger in Tokyo, completely indifferent to the delicate ecosystem of the charity gala around him.
