Chapter 4: The Shattered Glass

## Chapter 4: The Shattered Glass

The aggressive smile on Victoria’s face disappeared completely.

It was replaced by a paralyzing, suffocating horror that drained every ounce of color from her cheeks. The confident facade of the wealthy socialite evaporated into nothingness under the freezing finality of her husband's gaze.

“Gideon…” she stammered, her voice cracking.

“You’re… you’re home early.”

Gideon didn't answer. His gaze remained locked onto her face, his eyes the color of aged whiskey, burning with a silent, lethal intensity.

Crash.

The crystal wine glass slipped from Victoria’s trembling fingers, shattering violently against the marble floor. Red wine splattered across the white surface, looking remarkably like blood beneath the crystal chandeliers.

“I was just… Leo had an accident,” she lied, her hands flying to her diamond necklace.

“He was being careless, Gideon. I was only trying to discipline him.”

Leo stood near the hallway, his breath catching as he looked at his father.

Gideon’s expression didn't shift. It only grew darker, a quiet rage vibrating through his massive frame. Real power never needed to shout, and true authority never needed to humiliate. The silence he maintained was more terrifying than any scream could ever be.

“Gideon, please, look at me,” Victoria begged, taking a frantic step forward.
