Chapter 10: The Horizon of Protection
Three months later, the spring sun broke beautifully over the estate.
The dark velvet curtains had been pulled back, allowing the bright, warm light to flood every single room of the concrete and steel mansion. The towering crystal chandeliers still sparkled, but now they reflected the sound of a child’s genuine laughter.
Leo ran across the manicured garden lawn, his bare feet pressing into the warm grass as he chased the golden retriever puppy his father had brought home for him.

Leo stopped running, looking back at the porch with a bright, confident smile.
“Look, Papa! He caught the ball!” the boy shouted happily.
Gideon smiled back, a deep sense of peace finally settling into his chest.
“I see him, Leo,” Gideon called out, his voice warm and strong.
