Chapter 1: The House of Glass and Slaps

The enormous mansion echoed with the sound of a violent slap beneath crystal chandeliers and dark velvet curtains.

It was a fortress of unimaginable wealth, a palace built from concrete, glass, and steel that belonged to one of the most powerful corporate titans in the country. Yet, beneath the dazzling, pristine lights of the grand foyer, the atmosphere felt heavy, suffocating, and entirely devoid of warmth.

Victoria stood under the glowing lights, her satin dress shimmering with every breath. Her sharp, cold eyes fixed on the small boy kneeling before her.

“You are a clumsy, useless nuisance,” she said.

Her voice dripped with an icy contempt.

“Look at this floor. Look at the dirt you brought into my foyer.”

The young boy, Leo, lowered his head silently while one side of his face turned a burning, angry red from the blow. He stood barefoot on the cold marble floor, his small hands trembling as his chest heaved with silent, agonizing sobs.

He didn't scream. He didn't answer back.

“Are you going to speak to me?” Victoria demanded, stepping closer.

“Or are you going to sit there and bleed onto my imported marble?”

Leo tightened his small fists against his trousers, his eyes filling with heavy tears that dripped quietly onto the polished surface below. He possessed a quiet, heartbreaking dignity, enduring the malice of his surroundings in absolute silence.

Victoria adjusted her diamond bracelets, her face twisting into an expression of cold satisfaction.

“Your father is thousands of miles away conquering the corporate world,” she whispered, leaning down.

“He cannot hear you. He cannot save you.”

The mansion became unbearably quiet except for the sound of a lonely violin playing somewhere in the distance—a haunting, tragic melody that filled the empty space between them.
