Chapter 15 - The Traitor Revealed

|
The top floor of the Ferrante Financial Tower was a fortress of glass, steel, and dark leather.
Twelve syndicate bosses sat around a massive oval table. At the far end sat Don Moretti—a ruthless seventy-year-old patriarch with cold grey eyes and a silver cane.
"You're late, Elias," Moretti sneered as the heavy double doors swung open. "And you bring an armed girl into a high council meeting? Have you lost your mind?"
Elias walked to the head of the table, his posture radiating absolute authority. Marin walked two steps behind him, her hands folded quietly over her waist, her posture calm, sharp, and totally vigilant.
"I brought a witness, Moretti," Elias said coldly.
He gestured to Marco, who pushed open a side door. Two guards dragged Valenti into the room, bound to a wheelchair, his leg heavily bandaged.
Gasps echoed around the table.
"What is the meaning of this?!" one of the older bosses demanded, jumping up. "Valenti is an underboss!"
"Valenti is a traitor," Elias said flatly, tossing a heavy leather folder onto the center of the table. "Inside that folder are wire transfer receipts from the Moretti Family Swiss accounts to Valenti's shell company. Paid three days ago."
Don Moretti’s eyes narrowed into slits, but his expression remained cold as ice. "Fabricated papers. You're attacking my honor, young man."

"It's not fabricated," Valenti wept from the wheelchair, his voice trembling in terror. "Moretti paid me! He paid me to shut off the estate power! He wanted Adelaide dead so Elias would collapse!"
The room exploded into furious shouting. Several bosses drew their weapons.
