The heavy oak doors of the suite were pushed open once more.
Detective Singh stepped into the room, backed by six heavily armed Interpol tactical officers with their weapons raised.
“Vittorio Rossi,” Singh announced loudly, stepping forward with steel handcuffs. “You are under arrest for international racketeering, conspiracy to commit murder, wire fraud, and staging a fraudulent death.”
Vittorio looked at the officers, then looked back at me, his lip curling into a bitter, furious scowl.
“You’re throwing away an empire for a peasant girl,” he spat, his voice trembling with humiliated rage as an officer pulled his arms behind his back and clicked the cuffs into place. “You could have ruled Europe, Adrian! You could have had everything!”
I stepped closer to him, looking down into the eyes of the man who had terrified my childhood, the man who had turned my home into a house of horror.

“I already have everything,” I said quietly. “Take him away.”
As the officers dragged Vittorio out of the suite, screaming threats and curses into the quiet night, Bellini walked up beside me, placing a gentle hand on my shoulder.
“It is truly finished now, young master,” Bellini whispered, his eyes bright with tears. “The Rossi curse ends tonight.”

I took a deep breath, feeling the heavy weight that had rested on my chest for eleven years finally melt away into nothingness.
“Let's go home,” I said.
