Chapter 3 - The Cybersecurity Blueprint

They thought I was just a fragile heiress who had stumbled into money. They forgot who I was before I married Beckett.
For ten years, I had built Vanguard Systems from a garage project into a multi-million-dollar cybersecurity firm. My father had laid the groundwork before his passing, but I was the architect who wrote the underlying encryption architecture. I knew how data moved, how signals were hidden, and how weak men exposed their secrets when they thought nobody was watching.
Three weeks ago, I began noticing minor glitches in my home network. My personal laptop had been mirrored. My phone’s location services were being pinged every fifteen minutes from an internal IP address.
It didn't take long to trace the breach back to Beckett’s personal desktop in his home office.
When I bypassed his local firewall, what I found made my blood run cold.

There were fabricated psychiatric evaluations signed by a crooked doctor whose license had been suspended two states over.
Beckett and Mary weren't just trying to control me. They were building a legal framework to declare me mentally incompetent, strip me of my voting rights on the Vanguard board, and take full ownership of the multi-million-dollar tech empire my father had left me.
I didn't confront him. I didn't scream.
Instead, I spent twenty-four hours writing a background script that backed up every single file on his hard drive, uploading it directly to a secure, air-gapped cloud server managed by my corporate attorney, Claire Morgan.

I knew I had the paper trail for their financial fraud. But to destroy them completely in a court of law, I needed undeniable physical proof of their violence.
Tonight, when Beckett demanded we sit down for dinner with his mother, I had taped the micro-recorder to my chest before taking my seat at the table.
